It’s the time of the year that we focus on family, cozy homes and FOOD. I think December is THE month we love to eat out with our loved ones. So, if you have no clue where to eat out this month? I found the perfect restaurant to have dinner at.
Last week I had dinner with my boyfriend at Bodon, La Grande Brasserie in Amsterdam and the food was so delicious that I HAVE to share it with you! The restaurant tells the story of a traditional French cuisine and the interior looks divine. The restaurant is richly decorated with a beautiful blend of marble, vintage, and gold. You will find a blend of the 50s and 70s materials combined with sixties color patterns from ceiling to floor.
We started with this beautiful amuse. Well, actually we started with caviar! Bodon gave us a warm welcome with caviar. The chef came to our table to ask us if we would like to try some caviar. Uh yes? I think so! I never had caviar and I was super curious how it would taste. It was so tasty and such a cool experience! After the caviar, we got this delicious amuse.
After the amuse, I chose the Saumon Marine as a starter. For this starter, the chef uses Kvitsøy salmon. Fish has always been the most important food for the inhabitants of this Kvitsøy island. The salmon which comes from the island is one of the best quality salmon of the world. The chef uses this specific salmon as the traditional French kitchen always uses the best quality products. I am a big salmon lover and this salmon made me very happy!
I present to you my main course; Homard a l’americaine, which means half European lobster with potato mousseline and marinated cherry tomatoes. I can tell you it tastes as delicious as it looks!
No… I didn’t have 2 main courses! But ohhhh boy! My boyfriend had the Tournedos Rossini and it was the most delicious food I have ever tasted and I am not even kidding. This fried tenderloin with goose liver and truffle gravy omg yam! You can wake me up any time in the middle of the night for this!! Next time when I am having dinner at Bodon, I will order this for sure.
For dessert, I chose chocolate… Not really surprising for a woman right ;-)? The dessert looks like a cocoa bean which is filled with Valrhona chocolate, caramel, and sea salt. Every womans dream dessert.
Well as you can see and read I really enjoyed this food and the evening at Bodon, La Grande Brasserie. So if you want to eat out this month, this is definitely a good option!
