Are you also longing to go on holiday or a trip? Staycation is nowadays the perfect solution for a mini holiday! Recenty I went on an amazing staycation to Room mate hotel Aitana in Amsterdam. It was so relaxing and it was so inspiring to be in a different environment. I much needed a few days away from home.
Ofcourse there are many hotels you can go for a staycation, but let me give you 5 reasons why my staycation at Roommate hotel Aitana was amazing and why you should experience it too!
1. Room mate Aitana has the perfect location
Look at this picture I made… How pretty is this scenery? The cute little boats make you feel like you are on holiday right away. The hotel is beautifully located at the IJ-dock and is just one beat away from the beautiful city center of Amsterdam. It is just a 5 minute walk to the Jordan neighborhood, only 800 meters walking distance from Central Station Amsterdam and just 1,5km away from the famous Damsquare. The perfect location if you want to discover Amsterdam, want to go shopping or visit the Anne Frank house. The hotel is also easy to access by car, Roommate Aitana has the best parking facilities in the neighborhood, just underneath the hotel!
2. Room Mate Aitana has the most spacious rooms in town!
The rooms are about 30m2 big and they are bigger than the average hotelrooms in Europe and Amsterdam. I absolutely love it when a hotelroom is spacious. We stayed in the Junior Suite which was so nice and big (40 à 53 m²). It felt like I had my own appartment in Amsterdam for the weekend. The junior suite is not just a bedroom, it also has a sitting area and little kitchen area with a dinner table and Nespresso coffee machine.
3. Room mate Aitana has the most beautiful panoramic view!
I was already talking about how pretty and spacious the Room mate rooms are, but look at this view! The hotel rooms have an amazing view over Amterdam and the IJ-dok. The junior suite where I stayed is a L shaped room with big windows, I could even see the Adam tower from my bed! I really enjoyed the views, I think the views made my stay even more special and enjoyable.
4. Room mate Aitana has an unique decoration, style and atmosphere.
The design is made by Tomas Alia and each room mate hotel has a different decoration, but with the same Spanish flair. Room mate is a Spanish hotel chain which believes in the philosophy of creating a space with a decoration that no one is impartial to, inviting you to stay in, and make you feel as in you are at a friend’s house. I really felt at home at the hotel. The design is beautiful and it feels cosy at the same time. My friend & I also loved the smell in the hotel, we loved it so much that we bought the home fragarance. Now our own home smells like Room mate Aitana, so lovely!
5. Room mate Aitana has a lovely bar & restaurant with I-Dock Terrace.
The best thing about staying in a hotel is that you can have dinner in the hotel restaurant & have a drink in the hotel bar in these crazy times. I really loved the I-Dock restaurant & bar. I drank my favourite cocktail Disaronno Sour and the food was delicious. Th perfect staycation in my opinion!
